Question 1

What happens if a chemotherapy cycle is delayed?

Accepted Answer

Most regimens allow a 1-2 week delay without significant impact. Longer delays may require dose adjustment. Maintaining schedule is particularly important for adjuvant regimens.

Question 2

How is relative dose intensity calculated?

Accepted Answer

RDI is the ratio of delivered dose intensity to planned dose intensity. An RDI below 85% is associated with worse survival outcomes in many curative regimens.

Question 3

Can the calendar accommodate dose modifications?

Accepted Answer

The calendar should support modification of individual cycle doses and dates, with documentation of the reason for modification.

Question 4

How should the calendar account for antiemetic scheduling?

Accepted Answer

Antiemetic prophylaxis follows emetic risk categories. High-risk regimens require a four-drug regimen on Day 1 with continued dexamethasone Days 2-4.
